English as a Second Language to students in China and Hong Kong as well as to other nationalities here in NZ.
Description:
I have just returned to NZ after working as an ESL teacher in China and Hong Kong for the past 4 years. I have taught all levels taught from primary to adults. I worked for 18 months in Universities.

I hold a TESOL certificate which I got in Auckland. I specialised in teaching adults and English for Academic Purposes. While in China I spent a year preparing students for the IELTS exams. All of my students are now studying abroad.

I think that textbooks can be used as a guide but not as the only method of learning. I believe that learning how to use the English Language naturally and in everyday conversation is the most important thing. During a tutorial much of the time will be spent using the language rather than doing excercises and reading from books. Music and newspapers are also great tools to use when learning a language. This will help you to speak more naturally and listen more effectively.

I am quite flexible as to group size or individual lessons and where we hold our tutorials. This can be discussed further once we meet.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that I can help make your english language learning fun and interesting as well as useful.
