Tutoring Experience:
Have tutored students casually and for payment since 2010 in both Mathematics and Physics and worked as a demonstrator and tutor officially employed by the University of Auckland in 2012.
Description:
If you are looking for a tutor that is driven, prompt, and reliable then look no further. I am willing to answer any of your questions and readily available.

I have a passion for science, teaching and learning. I have found that since I have begun tutoring in the areas I study that I have gained a greater understanding of these areas. This understanding drives me to want teach more and to learn more, ultimately making me try and be the best teacher, tutor and learner of science and mathematics that I can be. I enjoy it and therefore do not find it a chore, nor is it something that I 'must' do or be forced to do, rather, I want to do it.

All tutoring experience I have done has either been in NZ, Australia or the UK so I am familiar with the New Zealand NCEA system, and can learn to adapt to any new system that comes around.
I tutor both Mathematics and Physics ranging from early High School until early University level

Lived in Germany for a year on exchange so I am well qualified to teach it at these levels.

Tutor:Scott van Heerden
Rating:rating (What's this?)
Gender:Male
Location:Otago - Dunedin
Price Range:$20-30 per hour
Education Level:College
Institute:University of Otago
Major:
Subject:ScienceLevel:Secondary(Form 6-7)
Subject:MathsLevel:University(Year 1)
Subject:PhysicsLevel:University(Year 2)
Tutoring Experience:
I have tutoring experience teaching students from form 1 at high-school to first year at University covering subjects from Maths to Computer Science and even volunteer work tutoring English to adult immigrants. My specialities at University level are Physics, Maths and Computer Science (Python and Java). I have tutored all the sciences at high-school up to year 13 however as well as Maths.
Description:
I have currently completed my second year of Physics at Otago Uni, I have straight A's in all the second year papers. In my first year at Otago after leaving school a year early I studied Neuroscience so have covered Biology, Psychology and Chemistry to a University first year level as well.
My tutorials are tailored towards the students needs but I usually focus on core concepts first and progress towards exam style questions and study for best results once the subject is well understood. I've personally found real understanding to be key to success in my own studies so this a main focus of my tutorials usually. At the same time I am willing to adjust lessons to the specifications of the student if they would prefer a different approach and I appreciate that everyone learns differently.
I am available to tutor in the Dunedin North area or Dunedin suburbs in home or at a local library. Previously the University libraries have been ideal for students and myself.
I am a top student with a passion for science and teaching but I am outgoing and sociable as well. I certainly won't disappoint as your tutor!

Tutor:Anuj Misra

Gender:Male
Location:Canterbury - Christchurch City
Price Range:$10-20 per hour
Education Level:Doctoral Degree/Ph.D
Institute:University of Canterbury
Major:Mathematics
Subject:MathsLevel:All levels
Subject:PhysicsLevel:All levels
Subject:StatisticsLevel:All levels
Tutoring Experience:
I've been a tutor for Applied Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics and Physics at University of Cape Town (UCT) & more recently at University of Canterbury. I have tutored for a host or courses at UCT and am familiar with the teaching methodology, implementation and examination structure that goes at the tertiary level and most importantly, help with developing skills for independent study so that ultimately you can study by yourself!
Description:
I'm finishing up my PhD in Mathematics at University of Canterbury and would eventually be looking at a career as an academic, so teaching/tutoring is naturally a very important part of our training. I've studied across a whole bunch of places from Cambridge UK (Dept. of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics) to University of Cape Town (UCT) (Dept. of Maths and Applied Maths) and that has taught me the different teaching methods and structures that go into tertiary education, especially having been a student, tutor, mentor and lecturer myself. I believe you learn a lot more when you teach because only then you are challenged by another mind and you start to think along different modes and methods - that to me is the core of teaching, re-learning and re-inventing the way one thinks. I've been involved with many tutoring initiatives like the hot-seat one-to-one tutoring (UCT), course-structure & delivery method-design (UCT & Cambridge) and learning and numeracy (mathematics) for applied social sciences. Having been a student myself (kind of still am), I know what it feels like to be needing help with small things and just wanting someone around to answer/assist with techniques and confirm.
