I am passionate about building students understanding of concepts rather than memorising information. Description:
Hi, I am a first year engineering student at the University of Auckland. I have studied Maths/Calculus through ncea level 1,2 and 3. I am a patient and thoughtful tutor and always finds a way to break information down into ideas and concepts that can be understood. I have successfully tutored younger students in maths while I was at school for four year.
I find it most beneficial for students when they bring me material they are struggling with. From this point we can work through the concept together and break it down into more manageable sizes. Sometimes I find it is just looking at a concept in another way or putting it into a context that the student is comfortable with which helps students understand the method involved. Then I find it is useful to go over many examples and different ways this question might be asked in an exam situation to solidify the concept that has been learnt.
