Tutoring Experience:
I have had hundreds of hours of tutoring experience with high school students studying Cambridge/ CIE. Over the last few years, I have tutored students from various schools such as Auckland Grammar, King's College and Westlake Boys, in a range of different subjects. My subject of expertise is Cambridge Maths to Year 13, however I am also able to tutor Physics, English, Biology and Chemistry up to a Year 12 level. I can also tutor most standard subjects at a Year 9/10 level.
Apart from my private tutoring experience, I have also worked for a number of tutoring companies, as well as working at a voluntary organisation called Cambridge Campus, where I have run numerous 2 day crash courses in a range of subjects.
Since leaving school, I would estimate I have tutored around 50-100 students in either an individual or group setting. I pride myself in being able to adapt my teaching method and process to each individual student. I have tutored some students who are just aiming to pass, as well as others who are aiming for A*. I am flexible to different forms of tutoring, whether that be an individual or small group setting. I am also equipped to deal with tuition on a weekly basis or also intensive crash courses for exams.
Description:
I am a 5th year medical student with the University of Auckland. However, this year I am based mainly in Hamilton, while spending some time in Auckland as well as the greater Waikato region.
Born and bred in Auckland, I went to Auckland Grammar School in high school where I attained A* in A2 Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Economics as well as A's in AS Physics, English and Thinking Skills. I graduated from Auckland Grammar in 2011 with a 94% average in Cambridge exams. I have also attained scholarships in the NZQA Scolarship exams in English, Geography, Statistics and an Oustanding in Economics.

I can show you how to improve your NCEA Physics, and gain full marks for questions in CIE.
I can help you gain an Excellence in your NCEA internal assessments.
Don't settle for Physics concepts just being re-explained, learn to be able to answer application questions in an examination to score better marks and raise your level of achievement.
NZ Registered teacher of Physics with 13 yrs(NZ)teaching experience.
Currently teaching at all 3 x NCEA levels and CIE AS/A2.
Involved in NCEA external examinations.
Description:
If you simply need physics concepts re-explained or the text book read back to you, then I am not who you're looking for. My tutoring is more suited for the active learner and the extra coaching they need to do their examinations better. I know how to make you learn ! I do not teach out of a text book....I actually teach you !
Physics will make sense to you from Electromagnetism to Mechanics and everything in between.

Achieve in NCEA by getting inside information on the marking of the examinations. Improving your grades from an:
"A" to "M"; from an "M" to "E".
I will show you how to get the explanations questions correct. I understand the examiners report and will interpret it for you.
You will get value for your money with me.

Acquire an in-depth understanding of Cambridge Physics (AS/A2 level) and then apply your skills to score top marks in your examinations. Learn and use the language of Physics and examination techniques,..... that examiners actually look for, to award grades/marks.

My tutoring style is not solely focused on going through questions and re-explaining what you've had in class but teaching you, according to your learning style. I will encourage you and show you skills to learn and use Physics concepts, that will enable you to do the examinations better.

The service I provide, is more like having your own individual Physics-coach, responding to your individual learning needs.

Dear Amy,

It was our pleasure having you as our daughter's tutor.
She highly speaks of you and told us you were the only one so far to be able to explain 'math' to her.
She appreciated your calm, correct but gentle way of teaching and will defenitly succeed in her upcoming exam.
Partly of course thanks to her determination, but she couldn't have done it without your professional assistance and guidance.
Thank you on be behalve of Camille and the whole family.
Kind regards

Hi Amy

Thank you so much for your help with my statistics paper. With your help I went into the exam on a B and finished with an overall grade of A-. I could not be happier.

You know the subject well, and I found your calmness, patience and ability to break the subject down into parts was so helpful. You taught me how to interpret the questions which without doubt was one of, if not 'the' major contributor to passing the exam so well.

This coming semester I will be mentoring other commerce students and I will recommend your tuition services to any student I find is struggling with the statistics component. I wish you all the best.

Kind regards,
Adelle Fischer

Education Level:Bachelor Degree
Institute:University of Auckland
Major:

Subject:PhysicsLevel:Secondary(Form 6-7)
Tutoring Experience:
I hav 4 years of experience tutoring in senior maths, physics and chemistry. I have tutored over 20 students in the recent two years in NCEA L2 maths, physics, chemistry; NCEA L3 Calculus, Statistics, Physics, chemistry; Cambridge maths and physics; Year 8 maths and science; Year 7 maths; and ESOL.
Description:
I hav a strong academic base in maths, physics and chemistry. I got NCEA Level 4 scholarship in Mathematics with Calculus, Statistics and Modelling, and Chemistry. In addition to that, I got top in Physics in both year 12 and year 13 in my high school.

So i'm very confident in tutoring physics, chemistry on both NCEA Level 2 and 3 basis; Calculus and Statistic on NCEA Level 3 basis; and maths (both NCEA Level 2 and Cambridge maths).

The method I use for tutoring would be giving handouts and notes with explanation, and answering any questions my students would have. I'm also capable of teaching beyond the school level since some people might aim for the scholarship level.

The place of tutoring is negotiable but preferrably in the city or mid Auckland. I speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
